ZooGala 2012 set for Sept. 15 | Events

BIRMINGHAM, AL – On Saturday, September 15th at 6:30pm, the Birmingham Zoo will host its largest fundraising event, ZooGala 2012, sponsored by IBERIABANK. Chairs of this year’s event are Missy Cox and Allison Ingram. With elephants, a vasa parrot, a serval, a great horned owl and many more animals. Guests will enjoy cocktails, dinner, live music and animal walkabouts in an African safari atmosphere. All funds raised at ZooGala go towards the Zoo’s operational efforts. This unique annual event helps the Birmingham Zoo continue its mission of “inspiring passion for the natural world.”

This black tie-optional affair will be held in the Zoo’s signature exhibit, Trails of Africa. Guests will be transported by a train ride on the Zoo’s locomotives, the Red Diamond Express and the Birmingham Zoo Express, for cocktails beginning at 6:30pm, and a seated dinner begins at 8pm. ZooGala will feature live entertainment by K-JAMS, menu and decorations by Kathy G. & Company, an original piece of artwork by Thomas Andrew and jewelry by Empire Diamonds. During the evening, guests can look forward to special appearances by Bulwagi, Callee, Ajani or Tamani, the Zoo’s African bull elephants and residents of Trails of Africa.
