Mountain Brook traffic study finds 41 percent of drivers speed
News

MOUNTAIN BROOK, AL (WBRC)- Some folks in Mountain Brook are concerned about speeders and they asked the city council to force people to slow down.

The concerns center around Northcote Road, a narrow street where residents say a good number of drivers simply drive too fast.

After making their concerns known to the police department, a traffic study was conducted at that location. The results: 41 percent of drivers exceeded the speed limit by 10 miles per hour.

"And they took all that into account and the neighbors concern, and decided to lower the speed limit to 25 [mph] from 30 [mph]," Chief Ted Cook said.
