VESTAVIA HILLS, AL (WBRC)- The Vestavia Hills police and fire departments are offering yet another free tool to keep you and your family safe.
When you sign up for Operation Overwatch an officer will make a visit to your home or business in plainclothes and an unmarked car. The officer will go over any security issues and discuss all the ways to stay safe.
"It's an opportunity for you to get a better understanding of the vulnerabilities in your home and in regards to your overall safety against crime prevention. You can ask us questions that are specific to your needs, specific to your type of structure to your family, your home and your community," Lt. Brian Gilham said.
If you are interested in the program, call Vestavia Hills police at 205-978-0119.
