FBI investigating Jefferson County bank robbery
BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC)- The FBI confirms that they are investigating a bank robbery that happened Thursday afternoon at the National Bank of Commerce on Shades Creek Parkway near Brookwood Mall.
A spokesperson says that they are searching for a suspect described as a white male, 5 feet 10 to 5 feet 11 inches last seen wearing a red and black jacket and white shirt. The suspect may have fled in a late 1990s model gold Ford F-150 pick up truck.
Jefferson County authorities say that the suspect did not produce a weapon during the robbery. He allegedly handed a teller a note demanding money. When she gave the suspect an undisclosed amount, he fled. No one was injured.
